So here it goes, I’m exposing myself to the world. My transformation form couch potato to Ironman athlete is slowly taking shape (lol). This time line of the 2 photos is from September of last year to 3 weeks ago. It’s been a long hard battle to get back into shape again. I’m older and all the research I have done tells me that it takes much longer to loose weight and more importantly loose fat. My recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has been a challenge, I’ve had to learn what foods I can eat and what food I need to stay away from. The Gluten part has been the hardest by far. Simple products like Soy sauce or barbeque sauce, or any dressings have gluten in them. Red Licorice is made with wheat, go figure? So for me, if I consume something with wheat or gluten in it, it takes me almost a week before I recover. Sore tummy, feeling weak, tired all the time, brain fog, irritable (ask my wife), diarrhea and the list goes on and on.
My quest: the Challenge Triathlon in Roth Germany; 2.4mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2mile run all in under 15 hours. Keep checking back as I will continue to provide updates.
